Glove Care
|
Proper care can extend
the life of a golf glove. A glove should be put on and taken off correctly.
When putting on your glove, place your fingers in the glove first and gently
push down the leather around each finger until your fingertips are flush
against the tips of the glove. Next place your thumb in the glove, and pull
the glove gently over your hand. You should have a taut fit over the palm and
back of your hand. If you need to adjust the glove, do not pull on the cuff,
just smooth the glove over your hand. To remove your glove, one finger should
be slipped off at a time. After each play, the glove should be placed on a
clean, flat surface. Be sure to keep it away from heat, or direct sunlight.
If you need to clean your glove, do so with a soft damp cloth. Do not use
detergents, and of course, do not put your glove in a clothes dryer. Extreme
heat shrinks leather and will damage your glove. Once the glove has dried put
on your glove to keep it supple. Avoid rolling or crumpling the glove. Do not
store your glove in your bag. As you avoid heat, avoid moisture as well. If
you experience tearing of your glove, replace it. However, consult with a pro
to see if the wear is normal or a result of the way you are holding the club.
